GOOGLE GOBBLE

Dear Linux Magazine Reader,

Google has become a ubiquitous

part of daily life – at least in my house. Of course, people who work with computers use Google to search out new drivers, howtos, and product information. But Google is present in other spheres also. Particularly interesting (or alarming, depending on your viewpoint) is the importance of Google to the academic endeavors of middle school students. When I was in school, I used to have to go to the library to write a report. Now you just sit at your desk and google up some facts. Everyone knows the Internet lets you do everything from your house, so children who work online spend less time meeting each other and playing hopscotch. Although this is a very important point, it is not really my point now. My point is more about the methods and motives.
